Star Refutes Anti-Vaccine Stance After Narrating Disputed Pandemic Documentary

The "Taken" star has lent his voice to a recent film that casts doubt on the safety of vaccines and commends ex- health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Feature's Disputed Origins

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a well-known publication published by Judy Mikovits, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for assertions that the virus was a result of a bad strain of the influenza shot.

Her co-author, the executive producer, has penned books with far-right media personality Alex Jones. Heckenlively wrote online hailing Neeson's involvement in the project.

A Strong Denial

A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have released a comment strongly denying claims that he subscribes to anti-immunization views.

"Everyone can recognize that unethical practices can exist within the drug industry, but that should never be equated to opposition to vaccines," the comment reads. "Liam is not, and is not, anti-vaccination. His long work with Unicef highlights his consistent support for public-health initiatives."

It continued that the performer was not involved in crafting the project's editorial content and that questions about its content ought to go to the creators.

Central Themes In the Film

As presented, the voiceover spoken by Neeson includes several provocative claims:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have called for "complete compliance" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "medical science has become dangerously influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • The film further attacks stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused psychological harm that cost thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it mentions a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Background and Recent Debates

The film includes a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the focus of a BBC apology by the network for editorial breaches.

Recently, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to change its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is also referenced in the documentary, even with a fresh analysis from the global health body stating no connection has been found.

An Earlier Record of Support

Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has previously voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's script stating, "This isn't the finish of our story. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
